If you don't have a plan, you'll fail from the start. Period. I'm not here to pull punches or to give you the warm and fuzzies when it comes to making money online. What you need if you've tried and failed to make any meaningful amounts of cash on the web, is a strategy. Yes. A plan!
Why Do I Need A Plan?
When businesses are built, most begin with a simple idea. Successful businesses succeed with short and long term planning. What this means is that you must have an understanding of exactly where it is that you'd like the direction of your business to go. Have you decided what you'd like to sell. Will you be working predominantly with affiliate marketing, ad copy, e-books, wholesale & retail, e-bay auctions or any of the thousands of internet opportunities that are available to you. I'm sure we'll agree that there are more options out there than we can wrap our heads around. And this is precisely why so many fail to achieve any form of success with their endeavors.

While we jump around dipping our fingers into affiliate marketing for a month, and then bounce to Adsense with Google for a couple of weeks and then Whoaaoo! "The latest greatest product ever to tackle the internet" has been created and suddenly our inboxes are filled with discount offers and reviews urging us to get in now before the game is done.
Before the doors are closed!
Slow down!The urgency isn't real. Real money is acquired with patience, prudence and sound decisions. The internet is open for business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You have time. Don't be rushed into unwise spending. Think longterm and you will succeed. You can make money online. Read on, I'll explain.
Rome Wasn't Built In A Day
I know, I know... You've heard it before. But listen... If it was true back then, what changed?
Maybe there's something in that statement that rings reality!
Maybe if we take more time to develop a real business instead of looking for the get rich quick dip and duck routines, we can actually build something that can succeed. If we nurture one really good idea and support it to maturity it might just take root and flourish.
All You Need Is A Vision
Today in the world of internet marketing, success can be a fitful dream. Extremely hard to come by without proper priniciples, the young entrepreneur tends to give up moments before the pastures turn green.
Let me ask you a few questions.
When you were a child and you tried to ride a bike for the first time did you fall?
Did you get back up?
Did you fall again?
What did you do this time?
I'm willing to bet you got right back up and kept on trying until you got it right! Riding a bike was very important to you at that age, maybe it still is! Everyone was doing it and you wanted in. Am I Right? Of course you did. Maybe you want in on this internet marketing thing just as bad! Have you fallen down online before? Did you get back up? The simple fact that you are here with me reading this tells me you probably did. Good for you! You've got what it takes to make this work, now all you need is a vision.
Your vision is what you see yourself achieving in life. Do you have dreams, goals and aspirations. I mean something tangible, not just the desire "to be rich" or "to be a millionaire". What are you passionate about? Do you love horses or hockey? Maybe you prefer sewing and cooking. Regardless of what you love to do or love talking about endlessly, you can make your passions work for you. For instance, I love to read. I chose to work with e-books for my internet marketing plateau. I get to read up on thousands of subjects that, not only peak my interest but work for me as well and I can write about whatever makes me tick. The fact that I am able to work with what I love, gives me a passion for life. Wake in the morning excited for the days coming events and you'll live to be a very old and happy individual.
Not For The Faint Of Heart
Granted this online internet marketing thing is definitely not for the faint of heart. It can and has broken many an entrepreneur, but with persistence and perseverance almost anyone can find some form of success working from home on the web. Many have taken their passions and have started membership websites that cater to a niche group of people with the same interests. Others have chosen to market other peoples books or products to find their success. The point is there is no one proven money generating method that will outweigh all others. That decision must be left to the individual who has chosen to make the internet an additional or primary source of income. With the discipline to stick to routines and manage time effectively, entrepreneurs can find extremely rewarding successes on the web doing exactly what they love. Money may not come in in leaps and bounds but a few extra hundred dollars a month can help to make ends meet in times of need.
Be realistic. Set goals and priorities. Keep your spending to needs and not flights of fancy.
Start your business and feed it with love.
You can succeed. We all can with a little persistence.
